What did Wimbledon champions Djokovic and Halep do on Giving Tuesday

The charitable foundations run by the 2019 Wimbledon king and queen Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep joined the Giving Tuesday movement by highlighting their missions and the causes they fight for. Novak Djokovic Foundation focuses on supporting early childhood education in Serbia, a country where approximately 90,000 children don’t have access to preschool education, according to NDF.

“Giving is all about love and our goal is to send another 200 children to preschool.

From my whole family and our foundation team, we thank you so much for your generosity and support!”, said Novak on social media. Besides the Serbian champion, Simona Halep is renowned for her great will of helping children develop especially through practicing sports.

“I am committed to giving back through my work for the Simona Halep Foundation and other charities. We already fund a girls’ ice hockey team, financed the organization of several gymnastics events and of course we help budding tennis stars, but I have much bigger plans for the future!”, Simona said on Instagram.

Finally, among all the worldwide stars that hashtagged Giving Tuesday in the hope of spreading awareness for the less fortunate people, there was Sloane Stephens as well. The American’s foundation provides educational opportunities, encourages healthy lifestyles and helps empower children all around the world.

“I am so proud of the work @sloanestephensfoundation has done, but I’m even more excited of everything we hope to do! I’m so grateful what tennis has given me & hope that the foundation can help to pass that along”.

said Stephens on Instagram. If you are a tennis fan and you want to do a good deed before Christmas, you can donate to any of the foundations above and feel better afterwards. Novak, Simona and Sloane would be delighted to know that you did.
