Rising American star Sofia Kenin, 21, has nothing but good to say of Novak Djokovic as she reveals the Serb gave her some advice when they met a few months ago. Djokovic, 32, is already one of the most accomplished players ever as he has won 17 Grand Slam titles and he is third on the all time list with most weeks at the world No.
1. Kenin, one of the most promising players from her generation, appreciated when Djokovic was willing to pass to her some of his tennis knowledge and experience. "We had a little bit of a convo but we started talking during the tournament.
I was after his warmup, so we started getting tired and then he started following me and I was like okay, cause I follow him. Then like he was playing the final, and I was cheering him on and I was like hoping that he would win so I would have an excuse to message him and say congrats.
So yeah, we had a nice convo and he gave me some tips, just told me to relax, enjoy the moment and yeah, so it was really nice of him," Kenin revealed in an interview before her campaign in Dubai, as revealed on Essentially Sports.
Kenin, who is enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 4 in the world, claimed the biggest title of her career earlier this year when she came from a set down in the Australian Open final to beat Garbine Muguruza. In her last tournament played before the Tour suspension, Kenin made it all the way in Lyon.
