Novak Djokovic: Viktor Troicki has been very important part of my personal growth

Top-ranked Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has wished a happy retirement to fellow compatriot Viktor Troicki. Troicki, a former world No. 12, announced before the grass season that he would be ending his career after the grass season.

On Wednesday, Troicki suffered a loss to Brandon Nakashmina in the Wimbledon qualifying second round. "My friend, my comrade @viktortroicki," Djokovic wrote on social media. "You have been a very important part of my personal growth and tennis story.

Hvala brate ❤️ Together we lifted the biggest team trophy for our country 🇷🇸 .. we celebrated victories and mourned tough losses. We both became parents and opened that new chapter in life. This may be the end of a fantastic tennis career, but I look forward to watching you share your precious wisdom as our national team captain… you are no doubt to inspire new champions my friend.

Thank you for everything Ćivša! Good luck!"

Djokovic enjoying a strong run in Mallorca

On Thursday, Djokovic and Spaniard Carlos Gomez-Herrera beat No. 3 seeds Oliver Marach and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi to make the Mallorca doubles final.

Djokovic admitted he was surprised by their deep run.. “I don’t think we expected to reach the finals,” Djokovic said in an on-court interview. “But if we play well, we can return very well, we serve very well and I think we have a quite solid net game.

“All around, everything clicked quite amazingly in the last several days for us. I’m just super thrilled to share the court with." Meanwhile, Gomez-Herrera absolutely enjoys playing alongside Djokovic this week.

"For me it’s such a pleasure to play with him. I think [everyone] saw, we are so relaxed on court and we’re just enjoying [ourselves],” Gomez-Herrera said. “If we play like this, we can keep going until I don’t know when. And it happened, we are in the final”.
