World No. 9 Matteo Berrettini was "pissed" after losing to Novak Djokovic but he gave credit to the Serb for delivering a good performance. Berrettini, who was plaing in his maiden Grand Slam final, won the first set before Djokovic stormed back to win 6-7 (4) 6-4 6-4 6-3.
"I'm pissed because I lost. I think I didn't play my best match, but I have to say it's thanks to Novak. He made me play this way and that's his strength, that's why he's one of the best to ever do it," Berrettini said, per Tennis Majors.

Berrettini recovered from a break down in the first set to force a tie-break, which he won to steal the opener from Djokovic. Djokovic then started the second set with back-to-back breaks, before serving out for the set in the 10th game.
Djokovic then broke Berrettini in the third game of the third set and held on to his serve the rest of the way to win the third set. Berrettini made a solid start to the fourth set as he led 3-2 after the opening five games.
But Djokovic then claimed back-to-back breaks to win the set and book a four-set win. "I have a pain in my leg, luckily it's nothing dangerous. I didn't lose for that. We decided to tape it because it would help, and it actually helped," Berrettini said.
"When you reach the finals you feel your body kind of falling apart, but it's normal." Berrettini acknowledged that he will have to improve if he wants to have a chance against Djokovic in future meetings.
"In order to win against him I have to improve more. And like [Novak] said, he was losing against Rafa and Roger - thanks to them he improved. That's what I'm gonna try to do. Thanks to [Novak] I'm going to try to get better," Berrettini said.
