22-time Major winner Novak Djokovic will compete in his 13th US Open quarter-final. Novak faced Borna Gojo in the fourth round at Arthur Ashe Stadium and earned a 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 victory in two hours and 25 minutes, remaining on the title course.
Gojo qualified for the main draw and delivered three triumphs for a career-best result at Majors. Borna pushed Novak to the limits in sets two and three before the Serb prevailed to avoid spending more time on the court. Djokovic claimed 88% of the points behind the first serve, offering his rival a single break chance and keeping the pressure on the other side.
Gojo played against 13 break points, defending eight but hitting the exit door after losing serve five times. The Serb landed 25 winners and 12 unforced errors, overpowering the opponent's 40 winners and mistakes.

Novak made a strong start, serving well in the opener and challenging Borna to follow that pace.
A qualifier lost serve in the encounter's first game and struggled in the remaining ones. Gojo experienced another break in game five to fall 4-1 behind, unable to push Djokovic away from his comfort zone. Novak held at love in game eight to clinch the set 6-2, hoping for more in the rest of the clash.
Instead, Borna produced a fine hold at the beginning of the second set and broke Novak from his only opportunity in the next one to find himself 2-0 in front. The Croat missed a game point in game three and lost serve to bring the Serb back to the positive side.
They served well in the next seven games, locking the result at 5-5 and moving closer to a tie break. Gojo wasted a game point and lost serve at the worst moment to fall 6-5 behind, allowing Djokovic to serve for the set. Novak held at 15 to forge two sets to love advantage, moving closer to the finish line and a place in the last eight.
Gojo saved a break point in the third set's third game and stayed in touch until 3-3. Novak kept the pressure on the other side and delivered a crucial break in game seven that propelled him closer to the top. Gojo denied a match point on his serve in game nine, reducing the gap to 4-5 before Djokovic sealed the deal on his serve in game ten.
