ATP Masters 1000 Paris - Verdasco Upsets Cilic

Fernando Verdasco scored a surprise upset against Marin Cilic at the Paris Masters 1000 event on Monday, beating the in-form Croatian 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. The Spaniard has had a tough year, but played well against Cilic, never really allowing him to find any rhythm.

"It's the last tournament of the year, and I just want to finish the year in the best way as possible," Verdasco said of the win. "Recently, I've been practising maybe two, two-and-a-half hours on court, and then maybe another one-and-a-half, two hours at the gym [each day]." In other action, Philipp Kohlschreiber ousted Mikhail Youzhny's 6-4, 6-2, while Kevin Anderson beat Gilles Muller 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in a big-serving contest.
