Gabriela Dabrowski and Rohan Bopanna win epic RG mixed doubles final

Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and Rohan Bopanna of India are the 2017 Roland Garros mixed doubles champions. The seventh seeds outclassed unseeded team Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Robert Farah in the final on Thursday. Dabrowski and Bopanna saved two match points before taking a 2-6 6-2 12-10 win over Groenefeld and Farah.

After taking the opener easily, Groenefeld and Farah were cruising to the victory as they were up by a break at the start of the second set. Dabrowski and Bopanna then stormed back to take five games in a row and win the second set with a 6-2 score.

Groenefeld and Farah were again close to ending on the winning side, being up 9-7 in the super tie-break, but fell short yet again in their bid to close out the match. 25-year-old Dabrowski and 37-year-old Bopanna won their first ever mixed doubles title after an hour and six minutes of action. The duo previously lost in the quarter-final stage of the Australian Open. Full result:
