ATP Eastbourne: Kukushkin stuns Edmund. Zverev halts Shapovalov

Mischa Zverev has been struggling to find the right rhythm over the course of the entire first half of the season, winning just 10 matches prior to Eastbourne and dropping out from the Top 65. He bounced back this week, reaching his first semi-final since Metz last year after a 6-3 6-3 win over the 3rd seed Denis Shapovalov in an hour and 20 minutes. This was their meeting and both players had their chances on the return, with Denis winning 44% of the points in Zverev's games but getting broken no less than six times from 10 break points he gave to the German, unable to gain anything on his second serve and hitting 27 winners but also 28 errors.

Mischa tamed his shots nicely, staying under 10 unforced errors and he played better tennis in the closing stages of both sets to seal the deal in straight sets. Quarter-final results:
