ATP Wimbledon: Cilic leads. Wawrinka, Isner and Anderson struggle

After two days of nice weather and the blue skies, rain has visited Wimbledon for the first time this year, interrupting six men's singles matches that would have to be completed on Thursday. The 3rd seed Marin Cilic was off to a great start against Guido Pella, leading 6-3 6-1 3-4 before the rain halted the action for today. One of the title favorites did everything right in the opening two sets, scoring four breaks and never facing a break point to move a set away from the triumph.

Pella raised his level in set number three, serving well and earning a break in game seven when they returned to the court after the first delay, but that was the last game we saw for today. Stan Wawrinka defeated Grigor Dimitrov in the first round but he was in all kind of troubles today, trailing 7-6 6-3 5-6 against Thomas Fabbiano and having a lot of work to be done tomorrow if he wants to make his seventh comeback from two sets to love down and the first in five years! The Italian served well right from the start but Stan missed a huge chance to close the opening set in the tie break, wasting four set points at 6-2 and dropping seven of the last eight points to hand the set to his rival.

Fabbiano won the second set with a break in game six and he also led 3-1 in the third before Wawrinka bounced back, earning his first break of the match at 2-3 and staying in touch with his rival before the weather sent the encounter into Thursday's schedule.
