No. 3 seeds Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo have won this year's Rolex Shanghai Masters doubles title. Last week's China Open champions Kubot and Melo saw off sixth-seeded Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares in the Shanghai final 6-4 6-2 to continue their strong form and win back-to-back titles.
Kubot and Melo broke Murray and Soares in the third game of the first set and then comfortably held on to their serve as they didn't face a single break point during the set. Murray and Soares served out for the opening game of the second set -- but then got broken twice in a row as Kubot and Melo won five games in a row to take a comfortable 5-1 lead -- before closing out the match in the eighth game.
Kubot and Melo put up a strong serving display as they won 87 percent of their first serve points and didn't face a single break point in an hour and five minutes of play. Kubot and Melo now lead the head-to-head record against Murray and Soares 4-3.
Kubot and Melo previously qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals after beating Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic in the Shanghai semi-final. Kubot and Melo ended runners-up in Shanghai last year but this time they managed to make it a step further and win the title.
Poland's Kubot and Brazilian Melo now have four titles this season. The duo claimed the Sydney International title in the second week of the season, before collecting two ATP 500 titles at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle and last week's China Open in Beijing respectively.
