Wimbledon Mixed Doubles: Ivan Dodig and Latisha Chan win title

After a successful campaign with Sania Mirza, Ivan Dodig had found a perfect mixed doubles partner in Latisha Chan who has played 35 Major tournaments in that category so far. Playing next to each other for the first time last year in Paris, Ivan and Latisha had claimed Roland Garros crown before defending it last month, adding the third Major crown to their collection at Wimbledon after a 6-2, 6-3 win over the Swedish veteran Robert Lindstedt and Jelena Ostapenko in 70 minutes.

Dodig and Chan served at 73% and lost only 13 points behind the initial shot, getting broken once and taking half of the return points for four breaks from nine opportunities to control the scoreboard all the time and secure the title, earning 23 points more than their rivals.

Dodig and Chan established the order in the very second game when they broke Lindstedt, fending off two break points in the next game on Chan's serve to open a 3-0 advantage. Ostapenko suffered a break at love in game four after a lob that went long and Ivan and Letisha served for the set at 5-1.

Chan lost serve in that game after an incredible forehand winner from Ostapenko who got broken again a few minutes later to push the rivals 6-2 in front. Robert and Jelena gave their best to stay in touch in set number two, fending off five break points in games four and six before Ostapenko gave serve away at 3-4 following a smash error from Lindstedt who struggled with a leg injury.

Serving for the title at 5-3, Dodig delivered the title for his team when Jelena netted a backhand, starting a massive celebration of their third Major title in the last six tournaments.
