Colombia's Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah have won back-to-back Grand Slam titles after beating Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in the US Open final. Cabal and Farah, who claimed their maiden Grand Slam team title two months ago at Wimbledon, handed a straight-set defeat to No.
8 seeds Granollers and Zeballos 6-4 7-5 in the doubles final at Flushing Meadows. No. 1 seeds Cabal and Farah earned the first break of the match in the ninth game of the first set, before successfully serving out for the match in the following game.
Cabal and Farah pressured Granollers and Zeballos early on in the second set but the eight seeds saved a total of five break points before they converted their first break point in the eighth game to take a 5-3 lead. Despite missing out on multiple break point chances and then losing their own serve, Cabal and Farah kept their focus as they won four games in a row to overturn a 5-3 second set deficit and claim a straight-set win.
