ATP Finals: Ivan Dodig, Filip Polasek avoid finishing group winless

Croatian Ivan Dodig and Slovakia's Filip Polasek gave their best effort to avoid finishing their Nitto ATP Finals without a win claimed.
Dodig and Polasek, who lost their first two Round Robin matches, beat South-African Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram 7-6 (4) 6-4.

Klaasen and Ram were bidding to make it past the Round Robin stage without a loss but failed to do so. However, despite the loss, Klaasen and Venus finish the group at No. 1. Klaasen and Venus earned the first break of the match in the fifth game but failed to serve it out for the set as Dodig and Polasek broke them back in the eighth game.

Dodig and Polasek had a chance to close out the set in the 10th game but Klaasen and Venus saved two consecutive set points to eventualy force a tie-break. Klaasen and Venus led 4-3 after the opening seven points of the tie-break but then lost the following four points and dropped the first set.

Dodig and Polasek then claimed an early second set break and held on to their serve to get the job done in two sets.
