Jasmine Paolini, 28, created an absolutely stunning comeback in the Dubai final to beat Anna Kalinskaya and lift her first WTA 1000 title.

On Saturday, world No. 26 Paolini was on the verge of losing to 40th-ranked Kalinskaya as she was down by a set and a break at one point. Also even after forcing a third set, Paolini was inches away from losing the match as Kalinskaya had a chance to serve out for the match. But Paolini somehow managed to escape with a win, beating Kalinskaya 4-6 7-5 7-5.

Now, 28-year-old Paolini has two WTA titles in her collection.

How Paolini came back to beat Kalinskaya?

After starting the match with a break in the first game of the match, Kalinskaya got broken back in the fourth game as she and Paolini were tied to two games apiece through the opening four games. In the next two games, Kalinskaya and Paolini traded breaks and were leveled to three games apiece after the first six games. After twice blowing a break, Kalinskaya managed to break Paolini again for a 5-4 lead before serving out for the first set in the 10th game.

After winning the last two games of the first set, Kalinskaya also started the second set with a break and an early 2-0 lead. Down by a set and a break, Paolini refused to quit and managed to get the break back in the sixth game to tie the second set to three games apiece. After getting the break back - Paolini also broke Kalinskaya in the 12th game - the game in which the Russian was serving to stay in the second set.

At the start of the third set, Kalinskaya earned an early break but then lost it in the following game. But after blowing an early third-set break, Kalinskaya broke Paolini again in the third game and she kept her serve until the 10th game as the Italian broke back the Russian to tie the third set to five games apiece. Then, Paolini served out the 11th game for a 6-5 lead before breaking Kalinskaya in the 12th game - the game in which the Russian was serving to stay in the final.
