World No. 1 Iga Swiatek didn't make a promising start against Linda Noskova in their Indian Wells third-round match but managed to recover and make amends for the shock loss she suffered against the Czech at the Australian Open.

Swiatek, who is hoping to win her second Indian Wells title this year, was 2-4 down in the first set and Noskova also had three break points to go up by a double break. But Swiatek managed to avoid going down by a double break and from that moment absolutely dominated the rest of the match, beating Noskova in the end 6-4 6-0.

Going into the match, Swiatek had a 14-2 record in 2024. And one of those two losses was particularly tough for Swiatek as world No. 29 Noskova upset the Pole 3-6 6-3 6-4 in the Australian Open third round.

In her first meeting versus Noskova since a crushing Australian Open defeat, Swiatek made a shaky start and it looked like the world No. 1 was thinking about their match from Melbourne. But after shaking off the early pressure and tightness, Swiatek gave no chance to Noskova.

Swiatek won the last 10 games against Noskova

After missing out on two break points in the second game, Swiatek lost her serve in the third game. Up by a break, Noskova held on to her next two service games and found herself 4-2 up on the Pole.

Then, Noskova had a great chance to go 5-2 up but Swiatek saved three break points in that game - two of those three break points were consecutive. After that game, only one player was on the court as Swiatek claimed four more consecutive breaks and didn't allow the Czech any break points en route to winning 10 games in a row and sealing her win in a very impressive way.
