Defending French Open champion Iga Swiatek and third-seeded Coco Gauff have set up a semifinal showdown at Roland Garros after winning their quarterfinal matches on Tuesday.

Swiatek, the No. 1 seed, had no issues against Marketa Vondrousova as the Pole destroyed the 2023 Wimbledon champion 6-0 6-2.

On the other side, 2023 US Open champion Gauff survived a major scare as the American tennis star had to come come back from a set down to beat No. 8 seed Ons Jabeur 4-6 6-2 6-3.

Now, everything is set for a rematch of the 2022 French Open final between Swiatek and Gauff.

Swiatek, who ousted Gauff 6-1 6-3 in the 2022 French Open final, owns a dominant 10-1 head-to-head versus the American.

How Swiatek, Gauff won their French Open quarterfinal matches?

Swiatek came out firing against Vondrousova as she broke the fifth-seeded Czech three times in the first set while not facing a single break point.

At the start of the second set, Vondrousova missed out on her first break point of the match in the third game before Swiatek earned the first break of the second set in the fourth game.

Up by a set and leading 5-2 in the second set, Swiatek broke Vondrousova again in the eighth game to complete a two-set win.

Meanwhile in the Gauff match, Jabeur earned the first break of the match in the seventh game - missed out two set points in the ninth game on the American’s serve - but converted her third set point on her serve in the following game.

Down by a set, Gauff impressively bounced back as she broke Jabeur three times in the second set to send the match into a decider.

After leveling the match to one set apiece, Gauff also claimed the first break of the third set in the fourth game.

Leading 5-3, Gauff didn’t convert a match point on Jabeur’s serve but realised her third match point on her serve in the ninth game to complete her comeback win.
