Emma Raducanu has reached the Nottingham quarterfinal in a very impressive way as the British tennis star dismantled world No. 127 Daria Snigur 6-2 6-2.

After starting her grass season with a routine two-set win over Ena Shibahara on Tuesday, Raducanu returned to the court on Thursday and claimed another straight-set win in an hour and 20 minutes of play.

For Raducanu and Snigur, this was their first meeting but the 2021 US Open champion not having any previous knowledge about her Ukrainian opponent didn't have any negative impacts.

Now, Raducanu is set to have a great chance at reaching her first semifinal of the year as she plays next against either Ashlyn Krueger or Francesca Jones.

How Raducanu overcame Snigur in Nottingham?

When the match started, it was actually Snigur who made the first move after the Ukrainian broke the home favorite in the second game for a 2-0 lead but her lead was short-lived since the 2021 US Open champion instantly got the break back in the third game.

But after blowing an early break, Snigur had a chance to again go up by a break but missed out on two break points in the fourth game as Raducanu leveled the set to two games apiece. Losing an early break and then not realizing two break points mentally impacted Snigur as Raducanu claimed back-to-back breaks in the fifth and seventh games and didn't face any break points during that stretch to seal the first set.

After losing the last six games of the first set, Snigur held to her serve in the opening game of the second set. However, it didn't take long before Raducanu again got one of Snigur's service games as the Briton claimed a break in the third game.

In the sixth game, Raducanu faced a tricky situation but saved two break points to go 4-2 up before breaking Snigur again in the following game to go up by a set and a double break. Serving for the match in the eighth game, Raducanu didn't do it routinely but still managed to close out the match after saving two break points before realizing her third match point.
