Everything was easy for Mona Barthel today. The Swedish player beat Stefanie Voegele 6/3 6/2 in 59 minutes. Barthel was under control through all the match and reaches for the sixth time in her career a final, after having won in Hobart 2012, Paris Indoor 2013 and Bastad 2014 defeating Chanelle Scheepers.
She lost two finals, in Hobart 2013 to Elena Vesnina and in Bastad this year to Johanna Larsson. Mona will be World No. 43(+12) by last week. Voegele was playing to reach her first WTA Career-final in singles, since she lost Bogota final in 2012 alongside Mandy Minella.
Tomorrow Barthel will face Misaki Doi. The Japonese player, who defeated Jelena Jankovic 7-6(4) 7-5 yesterday, took advantage of Alison Van Uytvanck's retirement when she was up 6-4 in the first set. It's Doi's first career-final in singles after having won in Nanchin 2013 alongside Xu-Yi Fan and in Istanbul with the Ukranian Elena Svitolina.
