Tennis- Second seed Irina-Camelia Begu won her third WTA title of the career and first title of 2016 at the Brasil Tennis Cup in Florianopolis as she defeated the sixth seed Timea Babos after coming back from one set down 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Their only previous meeting was four years back in Morocco, when Begu had won in straight sets.
This time Babos got off to a great start and broke Begu in her first service game to race to a 3-0 lead. The Hungarian lost just 3 points on her serve in the first set and broke Begu again in the eighth game to take the first set 6-2. In the first game of the second set Begu broke Babos for the first time in the match but Babos got the break back in the next game.
The Romanian got another break in the next game and that break was also given back three games later. Begu broke Babos for the third time in ninth game and this time Babos was unable to get the break back as Begu took the second set 6-4 and levelled the match at one set a piece. Babos got off to a better start in third set and broke her opponent early to go 2-0 up, but Begu fought back to level at 2-2.
They were level at 3-3 but then Begu broke her opponent twice and won three games in a row to take the third set 6-3 and grabbed the title. SINGLES - FINAL
