Tennis- China's Ying-Ying Duan has won her maiden WTA title in her very first WTA final at the Jiangxi Women's Tennis Open in Nanchang as she defeated USA's Vania King after coming back from one set down 1-6, 6-4, 6-2. King was looking for her second WTA title, playing in her third WTA final.
Her first title had come ten years back in Bangkok whereas her second final was three years back in Guangzhou, China, when she lost to China's Shuai Zhang in the final. Duan was terrible on her serve in the first set as she was broken in the first game and then in third game, fifth game and seventh game as well.
She could not hold her serve in whole set and lost the first set 1-6. She won just 8 out of 27 points on her serve in first set. She was broken for the fifth consecutive time when King broke her in the second game to go 2-0 up in the second set.
It looked like King was going to win it easily but then Duan made a remarkable comeback and broke back to level at 2-2. She had to save few break points in the sixth game and then she got a break at 4-4 to take the second set 6-4. That shifted the momentum on local player's side as she broke King in the firstt game of the third set, did not face any break point in whole set and then got another break in the seventh game to take the third set 6-2 and grabbed her first title.
