Tennis- Second seed Johanna Larsson, third seed Shuai Zhang and Italy's Camila Giorgi advanced into the Quarterfinals of the Korea Open WTA Tournament in Seoul whereas eighth seed Louisa Chirico of USA was stunned in a very thrilling 3 set encounter against Lara Arruabarrena of Spain.
Second seed Larsson was looking for a revenge against Ukraine's Kateryna Kozlova, who had beaten the Swede in their only meeting few months back on the grasscourt in Netherlands. Larsson took the first set 6-3 but Kozlova levelled it by taking the second set 6-1.
Larsson bounced back in the third set and won it 6-2 to book her place in the last 8. Larsson will face Lara Arruabarrena of Spain next, who needed 3 sets, 2 hours and 52 minutes to beat 20-year-old American Louisa Chirico in the longest match of the day.
The Spaniard dropped the first set 4-6, but next two in tie-breaks to win the thriller. Italy's Camila Giorgi also came back from one set down to beat Germany's Mona Barthel 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 and will face third seed Shuai Zhang, who defeated USA's Bethanie Mattek-Sands in straight sets 6-3, 7-5.
