The third seeded player Zhang Shuai is already out. The Chinese player lost to the French Oceane Dodin 6/7(11) 6/3 6/4 after two hours. In the first set Dodin didn't convert a set point, and Zhang converted the seventh one. In the second round she will face Misaki Doi, who took advantage of Maria Sakkari's retirement after winning the first set.
