Karolina Pliskova advanced into her first quarter-final at the Roland Garros beating Veronica Cepede Royg 2-6 6-3 6-4. In the first set the Czech player had a very low start, which allowed her opponent to dominate. The World No.

On 4-4 15-30 Cepede hit a forehand unforced error, then another one that allowed the Czech to break and prevail after an hour and 51 minutes. Pliskova hit 22 winners to 35 unforced errors in total, she will face on Wednesday Caroline Garcia who beat Alize Cornet 6/2 6/4 after an hour and a half.

Cornet didn't play her best tennis, she hit five double faults, 11 winners to 24 unforced errors. Garcia made 16 winners to 26 unforced errors and broke her opponent five times.
