Kiki Bertens advanced into the quarter-finals at Gstaad beating the qualifier German player Anna Zaja 6-4 6-2 in an hour and 27 minutes. Bertens saved all the four break points faced, she hit seven aces and won 80% first serve points.

Zaja, a World No. 250 who had won already three matches including the two played in the qualifying draw, got broken thrice in the whole match and she didn't have really the chance to lead the score.
