Barbora Strycova reached her eighth career final beating the qualifier Mihaela Buzarnescu, 6-3 7-6(3) in two hours play. In the first set the Czech saved a break point in the first and fifth game, she broke her opponent in the second game and successfully held.
In the second set Strycova saved a set point down 5-4, she easily won the tie-break. It was still a good week for the 29-year-old Romanian, who won five matches and will break into the top 100 rankings on Monday. Strycova will try to win her second title after 2011 Quebec.
She has not a good record, as she lost all the six finals played since 2012. Magdalena Rybarikova defeated Viktorija Golubic by 6-4 6-4 to reach her seventh final (4 won and 2 lost). The Slovak player, who was out of top 400 in the first quarter of the year, won five of the last six remaining games in the first set, from 1-3 down to 6-4.
In the second set Golubic, who reached the final here last year losing to Dominika Cibulkova, was leading 3-2 when she lost four of the last five games of the match. Strycova and Rybarikova have the chance to reach 23rd position in the Rankings by winning tomorrow.
