WTA Istanbul: Pauline Parmentier and Polona Hercog to compete in the final

World number 122 Pauline Parmentier is through to her third WTA final and the first in 10 years after a 6-3 6-4 win over the 7th seed Irina-Camelia Begu in an hour and 47 minutes. This was their sixth meeting and the third win for the French player who managed to beat the Romanian for the first time since 2011, facing six break points and losing serve three times.

Begu was unable to repeat that in her games, dropping 54% of the points behind her initial shot and she had to play against 11 break points, holding without problems only in three games and giving her serve away six times to end on the losing side.

The match kicked off with four breaks of serves before Parmentier took charge to rattle off the last four games for a 6-3, including breaks in games seven and nine to move closer to the victory. They served better in the second set after trailing breaks in the opening two games and Parmentier earned the win with a break at love in game 10 to advance into the final when Begu sent a forehand long.
