Ana Ivanovic, former World No. 1, has won one French Open and two WTA Tournaments of Champions before retiring from her career as a professional tennis player in 2016. The Serbian star hence put a final dot to her record—which features 15 titles and three Grand Slams finals, one of which she has won—at the age of 29.
When the declaration of her leave was made official, Ivanovic had recommended to all her fans to “not be sad, be optimistic alongside me,” and explained that “it was a difficult decision but there is so much to celebrate”.
The latter statement perhaps held much more than what the UNICEF Serbian ambassador could have thought at the time. Ivanovic married Bastian Schweinsteiger—former Manchester United star—the same year she retired from tennis, and in 2018 she announced the birth of Luka, her first child.
A little over 12 months later, the Adidas ambassador and her husband have communicated another great news. Sharing an endearing picture of four pairs of shoes, aligned in decreasing size, the celebrity couple has informed their followers and fans that their clan is expanding.
“Our hearts are bursting with joy,” shared Ivanovic on her social media accounts. “We are going to have another little addition to our family”. “We are full of love and happiness,” said Schweinsteiger through Instagram.
“Can’t wait to welcome our newest family member”. The couple also included math puns in their messages, Ivanovic’s stating, “Two under two,” and Schweinsteiger’s “3+1=31”.
