What a crazy time it has been! Most of us have truly missed the social gathering of friends and family that make us whole. However, slowly the tennis world is coming back to normality. The positive side effect of the pandemic is that the game of tennis has flourished as many tried to get outdoors and enjoy one of the few sports that allowed us to socially distance.
Tennis has expanded and many young people are picking up the game. This looks promising for the future. Additionally, we hope that the current conflict in Ukraine will soon be solved. Our thoughts are going to all people that are suffering during this terrible devastation.
On this occasion, we would like to honor our unexpectedly deceased President Bob Brett. Bob was incredibly important for PTCA. His passing was a big loss for all of us. However, Bob will remain unforgotten. His mentoring ideas, his kindness, his supportive clear mind, and his strong belief in consistency and resilience will always be a part of our work.
We will continue the pathway towards coaching excellence and honor his legacy. We are happy to announce that the Nordic PTCA brought in a new President. Please welcome Jan Lucky situated in Oslo/Norway. He will be assisted by our long-time Pro Michael Molin.
Jan and Michael are excited to present many new activities in the Scandinavian countries. We are hopeful that they will be very successful and well-received. We have also taken the first steps towards a South African division.
Federico Coppini will lead this division. I am convinced that Federico will come up with many new ideas in South Africa that support coaches and their players to develop professionally. We also want to thank the PTCA divisions in Central Europe under the leadership of former Micheal Stich Coach Nic Marschand and the Australian division guided by President Michael Robertson.
Finally, although few events run during the last 2 years we do want to highlight and take time to thank the executive team. Even with few PTCA events, there is constant upkeep and planning that needs to occur often behind the scenes.
Thank you to the incredible ladies and gentlemen that make the PTCA run – without them, we would not be the association we are! We hope that you will all feel a part of the PTCA family. We strive to make PTCA the finest association for coaching in tennis.
See you on the court! Hakan Dahlbo President – PTCA Email; [email protected]
