Carlos Alcaraz says he wishes to see a healthy Rafael Nadal again and highlighted that playing doubles with his idol at the 2024 Paris Olympics would be "a dream." Nadal, 37, sustained an injury to his psoas muscle at the Australian Open and he hasn't played since.
Nadal, who battled various injuries and setbacks over the last few years, surgically addressed his injury in June and he is hoping to be ready for the start of the 2024 season, which will likely be his last in pro tennis.
“Right now Rafa is suffering a lot. I hope he can return to training and that he can play next year from the beginning, that we have a healthy Rafa, ready for the Games. It would obviously be a dream for me to play doubles with him in Paris.
It depends on both of us. There are many months left until Paris, many things can happen. I have to be healthy, work hard, and be ready for this tournament. We will see what happens, but it is clear that it would be a dream," Alcaraz said, via The Tennis Letter.

Nadal open to playing doubles with Alcaraz
If Nadal manages to compete at the Paris Olympics, that would be his final Olympic appearance.
Alcaraz, 20, is off to a strong start to his career and the Spanish tennis community is certain that he is going to continue on Nadal's footsteps once his idol is retired. Considering the circumstances, many believe seeing a Nadal-Alcaraz doubles team at the Paris Olympics would be something beautiful.
"Regarding the fact of playing doubles with Carlos, I have not had the slightest conversation with him in that regard. But I would also like and it would be a good motivation, another incentive for me to be able to close my Olympic cycle playing with Carlos, with everything he is achieving, with the young people and with the great future he has ahead of him," Nadal told Diario AS.
