Carlos Alcaraz is very optimistic that Rafael Nadal can make a very strong comeback as those who practiced with Nadal have been telling Alcaraz that the 22-time Grand Slam champion will regain his "top level." After confirming his comeback, Nadal had a week of practice with 2023 Next Gen ATP Finals runner-up Arthur Fils in Kuwait. After Fils, Nadal also practiced with some other players.

"I think he's ready... I saw some videos of him practicing, he's 100 percent. I hear from other players that they practiced with Rafa in these past weeks and they said that he's going to return to his good level. His top level. I think he's ready for great things this year as well," Alcaraz said in Riyadh prior to his exhibition match against Novak Djokovic.

After Nadal's training block with Fils, his coach Carlos Moya issued a very encouraging update as he shared that the week of practice went better than the former world No. 1 "could have expected."

"He obviously knows that now he himself is still not at his best level, but that little by little he is going to acquire it. That's part of our job too. These days in Kuwait we have trained with Fils, and the truth is that it was very good, much better than he could have expected. Rafa came there thinking that he was not going to be competitive, that he was not going to be up to the task and he leaves convinced that he may be," Moya told ATP Tour Espanol.

Ahead of Nadal's comeback, many are curious to see what will be the Spaniard's level. While Nadal has been speaking very humbly about his expectations, there are many who think that former world No. 1 would never return just to play.
