Rafael Nadal is training intensely to be able to compete again for his beloved clay-court season. The Spanish tennis player had to withdraw from the BNP Paribas Open just a few hours before the start of the first ATP Masters 1000 of the season, due to a physical condition that was not yet optimal.

Rafa, giving up the tournament on the Californian hard-courts, chose to focus all his efforts on getting to the best of his physical shape precisely coinciding with the start of the clay-swing. His main goal is obviously to give himself a chance to win the Roland Garros and the Paris Olympics.

Precisely in view of his imminent come back (which should take place at the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters), the outfit that the Spaniard will wear during the clay-swing has been revealed.

The X account @cal1tennisR showed the first images: Rafa should wear a lilac t-shirt, with orange inserts on the edges of the sleeves. The bull's horns logo and the logo of the new technical brand (Nike) will be white. The shorts will be the same color as the t-shirt: lilac. The inserts will be white and will have particular semi-horizontal pockets. The shoes will be white with orange logo and inserts, while the sweatshirt will be orange with white logo.

Nadal misses the Sunshine Doubles but is training on clay courts

In the last few days a video has been published which gives us hope for the upcoming clay-swing. Nadal is engaged in a training session on the green clay of the courts owned by Larry Ellison, the owner of the ATP Master 1000 in Indian Wells, while training with a certain intensity on both his forehand and backhand with Marc Lopez as his sparring partner. Rafa himself shared the video on his social media, sending a positive message to his fans.

As previously mentioned, Rafa had to give up Indian Wells because he was not yet physically ready.

"With great sadness I have to announce my withdrawal from this fantastic tournament. Everyone knows how much I love playing in the desert and how much I love being here at Indian Wells and that's also why I arrived so early to train.

I've worked hard and done some tests but I'm not ready to take part in such an important event. It's not an easy decision, in fact it's very difficult for me but I can't lie to myself and above all to all my fans. I will miss you all and I'm sure the tournament will be a great success," he explained.
