We admired glimpses of Rafael Nadal in the first round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia. The Spanish champion was also able to offer some interesting athletic ideas, praised by his colleague Andy Murray. One point in particular showed the deepest essence of Nadal. During the match against Bergs, the 22-time Slam winner slipped but got up within a second and took home the point, exhilarating the entire crowd present in the stands.

A point that also caught Andy Murray's praise. The former world number one has in fact published a post commenting on Nadal's great skills.

"I think the best athletes/players are the ones who can think as quickly as possible, and this is a perfect example of that. Pay attention to how Rafa gets up from the fall... He sees that the incoming ball is slow enough to reach, then take a split second to rest his right hand on his leg in case he needs to hit a backhand in the next part of the point,” he wrote.

The Spanish champion didn't start very well in the first round against Zizou Bergs, losing the first set and not convincing with his serve. Starting from the middle of the second set, however, the Majorcan found a way to turn the match around by playing all the important points with extreme attention: the ones that ultimately made the difference. For him there will now be a super challenge with Hubert Hurkacz on the Central Court, scheduled in a few minutes.
