Here is why Rafael Nadal could still win 10th French Open title this year

Tennis: Rafael Nadal's favourite Football team Real Madrid famously won the ''La Decima'' (Title No.10) Champions League in 2014, something which was not achieved before and this year Nadal will be trying to do the same.

Nadal will be looking to win his No.10 title at the French Open, which will make him first ever male to win 10 titles at a Grand Slam, something not done in open era or before open era. In women's Margaret Court won 11 titles at the Australian Open but 7 of them were before open era. Martina Navratilova is the only player to win 9 titles at a Grand Slam in open era. The 28-year-old Spaniard would also make sure that he stays in the hunt to challenge Roger Federer's record of most Grand Slams.

Nadal (14) is still 3 short of Federer's 17 and would be looking to reduce the gap to 2. But Nadal did not have a great start on clay in 2015, as he lost to Fabio Fognini in the semifinals of the Rio Open, his first tournament of the year on clay.

After winning 52 consecutive semifinals in last 12 years, Nadal's streak finally came to an end. Many, including Nadal himself, are doubting the King of Clay and are thinking that he will not be back to his best now. He has lost only once in his 10 appearances at the French Open, a loss which came against Robin Soderling in the fourth round of the 2009 French Open. But does it mean that Nadal will suffer his second loss at the French Open this year? Would this loss affect his chances to get the French Open No.10 and Grand Slam No.15? Lets see how he started the year 2013 and 2014 on Clay.
