Tennis: The former World No.1 and 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal is through to the semifinals of the Argentina Open ATP Tournament in Buenos Aires by breezing past Federico Delbonis in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. The 28-year-old Spaniard needed only 62 minutes as he hit his top form once again and gave no chance to the Argentinian in the whole match.
He did not face a break point in the whole match and broke Delbonis five times. Nadal was facing second Argentinian in a row and will face the third now, as his semifinals opponent is Carlos Berlocq. 32-year-old Berlocq also got through in straight sets with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Blaz Rola. The other semifinals will also be Spain vs Argentina and a clash between former champions Nicolas Almagro and Juan Monaco.
The Quarterfinals clash between former world No.9 Nicolas Almagro and former world No.5 Tommy Robredo was a clash of two Spaniards and former world No.10 players. Almagro, who is currently ranked 89 in the world, 71 ranks below Robredo, stunned the second seed in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. 29-year-old Almagro needed exactly one hour to register his seventh win over Robredo in 8 matches.
