Rafa Nadal delighted with his decision to open up next season in Brisbane

Spanish tennis player Rafa Nadal says he is excited about his decision to make Australia as his first stop of next year's season. The 30-year-old has been confirmed as a participant for the Brisbane International - the first time in his career that he will open up his season on one Australian event as he usually opted to use the Middle East as his prefferable destination in the past.

Spaniard Nadal insists he simply has to experience opening season in Australia ... thinks it will serve him well for the Australian Open. According to Nadal, his sources had nothing but good to say to him about the tournament and the place.

''It’s going to be the first time in my career that I’m going to play in Australia the first week of the season and I’m really excited about it,'' told Nadal to Brisbane International. ''I think this is something I have to do during my career and I think at the same time it’s going to be a great preparation to be in Australia early. ''Everybody who has been in Brisbane has told me very beautiful things about the tournament and the place so I want to try it.'' Brisbane's tournament director Geoff Quinlan confidently added that fans will be counting days since January ...
