Rafael Nadal: 'It has been a tough season, I got injured in the worst moment'

Rafael Nadal is practicing almost every day in his academy in Manacor and will be going to Beijing in a few days to start the Asian swing that will end with the Shanghai Masters. The Spaniard admitted to Spanish media that his 2016 season was complicated specifically because he got injured right during the most important tournament for him, the French Open.

'It has been a difficult year. I got injured in the worst moment, in the middle of the season, which makes things even tougher. But I have to say that I had a good comeback playing a great event in Rio while at the US Open things did not go by my side.

I will try to recover my level, to feel ready to play. That's my goal now,' stated Nadal. After the Asian events, the world no. 4 will play Basel and Paris Masters, and if he qualifies, the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
