Rafael Nadal has finally followed the likes of Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer and has hired a SUPER COACH. The former World No.1 has hired fellow Spaniard Carlos Moya alongside Toni Nadal and Francis Roig. "It is a great joy to announce that Carlos Moyà joins my team joining Toni Nadal and Francis Roig," Nadal said in a statement.
"For me it's a great dream to have someone like Carlos who is, besides a great friend, a very important person in my career. Carlos will be from now on with me in training and in competition. To get involved in the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar project, working together with Toni (Nadal) and the rest of coaching staff, "he added. "I received the call from Toni Nadal while I was competing in the IPTL and, indeed, I was very excited," said Carlos Moya.
"For me to help Rafa is something special and I am sure that together with Toni, Francis and the rest of the team I participate in a joint project. Rafa is a special player but above all, he is a great person and a great friend.
I am very confident that I will get back the titles we are all looking for. I am also happy to be part of one of the most important academies in the world and a project so special for Rafa, within a structure with great professionals who already do an excellent job.
" "When I learned that Carlos was not staying with Raonic I called him because we thought it would be a good addition to the team and all our projects as the future of Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar," Nadal’s uncle Toni Nadal stated.
"Carlos has always been a special person for us and Rafael has had a lot of consideration and appreciation since his time as a professional where he was always ready to help us. We have understood that it is the ideal moment to be incorporated." Moya recently ended his coaching relation with Canadian Milos Raonic.
