Leonardo Mayer Lost to Rafael Nadal on the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. Interviewed by El Espanol, the Argentine player gave some interesting points on what it means to face Nadal. 'Playing against Rafa is already difficult, think at Federer, then [it's even more] since I have the one-handed backhand. Today this is a disadvantage. The game changed a lot, you have to play being down with legs. Nadal's ball moves a lot in the air. After that it bounces, it's really fast, which makes you lose the coordination in hitting.'
At 2014 Shanghai event, Mayer had wasted five match points to Roger Federer. What's the main difference between playing him and Nadal? 'It's easy. You know what Nadal can do to you, but you can't stop him. Rafa is like a hammer. Federer does unimaginable things, but Nadal intimidates you because he doesn't miss any ball.'
