Samantha Stosur suggests change in favour also of Rafael Nadal

The complaint made by Rafael Nadal about the hard court surfaces during the Australian Open created many reactions and criticism. The 2010 Roland Garros champion Samantha Stosur commented on these quotes saying: 'I don’t know if it’s any worse than what it used to be.

Obviously, our season’s predominantly on hard courts probably at least seven months of the year', Stosur said. 'A limited time on clay and even less on grass so. I’d like to see the clay court season a little bit longer if possible.

Somewhere I don’t know how that could ever happen - it’s a surface that has a grand slam on it and we’ve only got maybe four weeks lead-up to it on the WTA tour.' 'I’m sure Rafa loves playing on clay better than hard court too and most probably because of his body and everything else but I don’t know whether it’s worse than what it used to be.

I think as you get older and the years go by it certainly does start to take its toll.' ALSO READ: Luthi says he was worried about Roger Federer losing Australian Open final
