Spain has a lot of reasons to thank Rafael Nadal, who keeps being successful on clay and not only. And the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell once again benefited a lot from it. The Spanish event set a record attendance with 101,467 people attending the event from the first Saturday of qualies matches to Sunday finals.
It's the first time that more than 100,000 attend the event: in 2017 the record was 95,000, and it was largely broken. The final amount of economic impact will definitely be bigger than last year when it reached 45 million euros.
The 67th edition, for which organizers are already working, will take place from 20 to 28 April. It will be difficult to beat this year's player field with four top 10 players competing (Nadal, Dominic Thiem, Grigor Dimitrov and David Goffin) plus Novak Djokovic, who got a wildcard invitation.
