Gilles Simon: 'Del Potro has a lot of strengths, can beat Nadal'

Gilles Simon's good Wimbledon campaign ended on Tuesday with a loss to the world no. 4 Juan Martin del Potro. Analyzing the match, Simon said: 'I'm a bit sad because I was often on top of him in the beginning of the set.

Every time I had the break up, I was not able to hold it. You cannot have a thousand occasions against a player like him. I had enough and I didn't make it.' Speaking on the upcoming match between Del Potro and Rafael Nadal, Simon added: '[Del Potro] always has a chance.

He already beat him. He was able to beat all the top guys. That's why also many people like to watch him play because you feel something can happen. He has a lot of strengths in his game.' Speaking about what's left in the tournament, Simon added: 'I feel you have a lot of good players.

One more time, you play Milos (Raonic) on grass, you play John (Isner), the serves are good. Nobody can feel good against these guys. Even if, let's say, (Roger) Federer has a good record against Milos, he lost also already.

Milos is still going to serve 240 on every point, and nobody feels safe against that. It's going to be close, of course. They did it very often in the past. You feel it's obvious they're going to make it again. Trust me, it's not that easy on the court.' ALSO READ: Roger Federer: 'I get just 15 Uniqlo shirts'
