Rafael Nadal spent a relaxing and exciting Tuesday night ahead of his opening round match against the Frenchman Benoit Paire at the Toronto's Rogers Cup. Nadal and his team - made up of his coach Francis Roig, physioterapist Rafael Maymo - and a close friend, attended the Shakira concert.
Rafa was entertained and happy, as he was taking a video while dancing. Nadal has a great relationship with Shakira, as they featured in the singer's music video Gitana in 2010. It was seen by 90 million people only on YouTube, and it went viral also for their "intimate" moments shared together.
Nadal is making his 12th appearance ever at the Rogers Cup, he won 2013 title beating Milos Raonic in the final, 2008 title against Nicolas Kiefer and 2005 title against the American Andre Agassi. Last year he lost to the local hero Denis Shapovalov in the third set tie-break, and without any doubt he is now willing to go far again.
He played in Toronto for the first time in 2004, losing to the Australian Lleyton Hewitt in the first round. Going to Shakira concert was definitely the best way to relax himself before possibly five consecutive matches in the tournament without any day off.
