All the third round matches will be played on Thursday at the Toronto's Rogers Cup. It will be Grigor Dimitrov and Frances Tiafoe to open the schedule on Centre Court. The Bulgarian survived a scare against Fernando Verdasco in the opening round, while Tiafoe is coming from a great win over Milos Raonic. After that, Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas will meet each other for the first time in competitive matches. They trained together many times both during the off-season in Monte Carlo and on the ATP Tour, so Tsitsipas may take advantage of that. Alexander Zverev will then face Daniil Medvedev. The German needs to keep winning in order to try to stay as No. 3. Juan Martin del Potro, who withdrew from the event, is ahead of "Sascha" in the Live ATP Rankings. The night session will be opened by Denis Shapovalov, who returns on Centre Court after that his match against Fabio Fognini was moved to Grandstand on Wednesday due to rain delay. The local hero will face Robin Haase, who has a special connection with the tournament as last year he reached the semifinals. The night will be closed by the clash between Rafael Nadal and Stan Wawrinka, who play each other for the 20th time in career. Their last meeting happened at 2017 French Open, Nadal defeated Stan in a straight-set final, but that was a very different time for the 33-year-old compared to now.
On Grandstand, Kevin Anderson will face the qualifier Ilya Ivashka, John Isner will play against Karen Khachanov in attempt to continue his great season.
