Nick Kyrgios praised Rafael Nadal following their exhibition match at the Fast 4 on Monday in Sydney. The Australian player won the match, and he said he was happy to see the Spaniard competing again after dealing with knee, foot, abdominal and thigh injuries in the previous months.
Kyrgios, who defeated Nadal in their first meeting at the 2014 Wimbledon fourth round, said: 'He’s a great champion. It’s good to have him back, good to have him healthy and I’d love to see him do well at the Australian Ope.
It’s (Fast4) just a lot of fun even though 85 per cent of the place is going for Rafa, that’s fine.' Analyzing how the match against Kyrgios went, Nadal said: 'The first set was quick. That’s how it works, this Fast4, and especially playing an unbelievable talent, a player like Nick.
(But) I was there. I need to (find) a little bit more rhythm. I think it was a good start for me, a good comeback to the action in front of a fantastic crowd here in Sydney. I really enjoyed it a lot, playing tonight here. I’m happy to be back on court and then happy that I’m healthy again.' Nadal plans to get as soon as possible to Melbourne and, as reported by Marca, he will be helped there by Carlos Moya who will join the 17-time Grand Slam winner's team along with Francis Roig, who was with him in Abu Dhabi and Brisbane.
Moya regularly attends three Grand Slams out of four. His only absence is at Wimbledon. ALSO READ: Rafael Nadal: Worse players than David Ferrer won a Grand Slam title
