In an interview to TSN, several tennis personalities praised Felix Auger-Aliassime's rise to the top. The Canadian reached three finals this year, Rio, Lyon and Stuttgart. Rafael Nadal, who defeated the 18-year-old in the Madrid second round in May, said: "He is already so good.
He is 20th in the Race of the year, he is doing great, he is a great guy, hard worker. I like him." Serena Williams' coach Patrick Mouratoglou added: "It's incredible and I think it's great because he is on the group of the young guys that are so exciting to watch.
Felix, Denis Shapovalov, Tsitsipas, Tiafoe are fantastic to watch. This group is amazing and they will make us happy for the next 20 years. And of course, Felix is progressing so fast that he is the guy nobody wants to play against."
Auger-Aliassime's compatriot Milos Raonic praised Felix: "He has been impressive, he is playing well and so consistently. Since the South American swing, he is really beating top guys and he is raising in a surprising way.
It's been a positive first six months for him. There is much pressure than relaxation for him. But he will be in great shape and he will play great." Denis Shapovalov concluded: "It's unbelievable what he has been able to achieve in his first pro year. He has been doing better than me so hopefully, I can step up and challenge his game."
