Nadal is helping us sell many Davis Cup tickets, says tournament director

In an exclusive interview to Tennis World USA, the Davis Cup Tournament Director Albert Costa conmented on Novak Djokovic's appearance. The Serb was initially uncertain about whether playing or not and he eventually decided to be there.

"Me, Galo Blanco and Gerard Pique spoke with him. We have a good relationship with his team and his captain Nedad Zimonjc. Nole confirmed he wants to play to represent his country which is very good. After all the Davis Cup is a world class team championship in tennis"

Also Rafael Nadal is committed if he is injury-free. On Rafael Nadal, Costa added: "He is helping us to sell a lot of tickets as it is in Spain and especially Madrid. A lot of people want to see Rafa competing. All the federations are doing their best to bring their own players.

If they will not play, it will be because of an injured. Playing for one week is better than four. Alexander Zverev says it's not the perfect week but it's always the same one, where the Davis Cup final took place... Let's wait for one more month and we will see what he decides."

Also Andy Murray could play the Davis Cup in Madrid, as confirmed by his brother Jamie: "I don't know if I will play doubles with Andy again in the future. I haven't spoken to him about us playing together in the Davis Cup but I'm sure he would love to play in Madrid if he is able to.

Hopefully he can have a good run until the end of the season and play a lot of matches, regardless of what level that is, then be ready to start again in January feeling fit, strong and ready to compete in the biggest events there are."
