Coach reveals Rafael Nadal's priority for the rest of the season

In a press conference promoting the Senior Masters Cup in Mallorca, the former world No. 1 Carlos Moya spoke about the rest of the season for Rafael Nadal after triumphing at the US Open. Moya did not want to speak about the future schedule of the Mallorcan, who may skip Shanghai and Davis Cup while he plans to play in Paris and ATP Finals.

Just about this last event, Moya said: "We have to try getting there as much ready as possible, and we have to see how to achieve this goal because there is no guideline for it. Rafa's keys for success over the last years is to have picked tournaments very well and he did not play more than he had to.

He has been injury-free since April. Coming back as a world No. 1 is a real chance and Rafa will try to get there", said Moya. Novak Djokovic is dealing with an elbow injury. On Nadal's champion-like mentality, Moya added: "You always expect the best.

Despite he went through very tough moments he was always able to overcome himself. Probably people, not living with him on a daily basis, do not realize it. But I can tell you that in April the situation was tough and he gave himself the chance to keep competing.

His improvements have been amazing. He won 31 out of the last 32 matches, he won four of the last five tournaments player, including two on hard and two Majors. Now we will be careful about picking the schedule and training."
