Novak Djokovic spoke about the race involving him and the Spaniard Rafael Nadal to end the year as a world No. 1. The Serb said: "It doesn't depend only on my results. I have to win every match until the rest of the season and it depends on how he does.
I try not think too much about it, not paying attention about what he and other players do. The main focus is to perform at my best and win tennis matches. We both had very good seasons. So far he in a better position, we split Slams and he probably had better results in 1000 events.
I am very proud with the rivalry I had with Rafa and I also enjoy our practice session very much. It did not happen in ages and it was a practice match. It felt like a real match, intensity and competition were there but it was only in good spirits."
Djokovic also spoke about how he heads into the late stage of the season: "I am tired too, there is no question about it. It's a long season, but it's also an experience I can speak on behalf of many players, in my case I have always tried to balance the distribution of energy throughout the season and events that I care about the most, where I want to do my best and indoor season has always historically been very successful for me.
I have always played very well in Paris and London also back to back, I have also found myself very comfortable in these conditions and just hoping I can continue playing well."
