In an interview the two-time Major winner Garbine Muguruza spoke about Rafael Nadal's Davis Cup success. She said: "It cannot be better, winning in Madrid. Rafa was unbelievable, and Roberto Bautista Agut showed to be a champion.
Playing in a team takes a lot of responsability, tennis is usually singles but when you play for Spain you have people on the bench, teammates, a lot of pressure, it's a world championship and you have to handle everything."
On the reasons why she joined forces again with the former world No. 2 Conchita Martinez, Muguruza added: "It was a very nice decision, me and Conchita have been having a great relationship since I was 15 years old. I am very comfortable with her.
Counting on her in my team makes me very excited." On her preseason, Muguruza added: "Tennis is played when it's sun and I go to the United States because the temperature is better and we are half way before Australia."
Advices: "When you are younger you need to be driven more, now I know myself more and I know my strengths and weaknesses. December is the key month for practice, with a lot of fitness and without competing. All of us start from zero."
Goals: "You have to be realistic and have big goals, be the best and lift big trophies, but I have to think less by less and seek closer goals, now I changed a bit on this aspect." Equality: "I never thought if they treat me better than men in tennis, I am not worried about it."
