Rivals for almost two decades, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer took advantage of the trip to Cape Town, where ‘The Match In Africa’ exhibition is taking place, and spent time together on the practice courts and near the amazing beaches of the South-African capital.
Nadal and Federer are the main protagonists of the exhibition organized by the Roger Federer Foundation to help disadvantaged African children. They will be joined by Bill Gates and Trevor Noah on a doubles match happening on Friday, just tens of minutes before the long-awaited clash of the titans will unfold on the Cape Town Stadium.
Roger Federer shared his gratefulness for the presence of Bill Gates and Rafael Nadal in his pursuit of raising funds for poor children. “I can’t ever thank you enough for your support of the Roger Federer Foundation” Roger said on Instagram.
An ‘epic’ selfie with Rafa and Gates on a practice court in Cape Town accompanied the comment. Nadal and Federer met outside the courts as well, more specifically in a resort on one of the wonderful African beaches.
“Super happy to be in Cape Town sharing this unique event with my friend Roger Federer”, Nadal said on Instagram. The exhibition event taking place on Friday is set to gather a record audience of up to 50,000 people.
The last record was held by the show put on-scene in Mexico City by Federer and Zverev. This time the tickets for the Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal clash sold-out in ten minutes after they went on sale.
